Drilled piles are the best application for foundations of heavy structures especially in unstable or difficult soil conditions.

Made of reinforced concrete with dimensions varying from 60 to 200 cm, they can reach lengths of over 50 m and support loads of hundreds of tons. Excavation is normally accomplished using rotating equipment (buckets or drills) and it is supported by bentonite slurry, but when the geological conditions do not allow its use, sheet piles are the alternative.
